Bath is Britain's only city built on natural hot springs, bathing continuously since the Romans raised a temple over the sacred spring. The Roman Baths preserve the ancient complex; Thermae Bath Spa puts the same thermal water back on your skin. The full Bath catalogue is in the iOS app.
"The Romans built Bath. The British are still using it."
Aquae Sulis was Roman Britain's great religious spa, and its excavated baths, still fed by the hot spring, are the country's most complete Roman monument. Bathing in them ended long ago, but the water found new pipes: Thermae Bath Spa draws the city's thermal springs into modern pools, including the rooftop bath with the abbey on the skyline. The Georgian city around them was built by and for the eighteenth-century spa trade, making the whole centre a bathing artefact.
Our Bath Curator's Pick is the historic complex itself; the iOS catalogue covers the modern spa and the venues around the city. The Roman Baths are for visiting, not bathing; the venue pages keep the two experiences clearly separated.
Each card links to a full venue page with hours, access notes, type, and editorial context. Cards are ordered alphabetically.
